Food Storage

I wanted to talk about food storage for a moment. About 5 years ago I realized that common food storage was a good idea, in fact in some cases it is excellent. As many or some of you may know I am in the middle of a health crisis and when these over take me I am not functional on many levels and can become grouchy to the max because of it. I like being fully in control of my life and derive pleasure in making my husband a happy clam and cooking for him. I find myself digging into my food storage on several levels. I have created simple meals by combining simple ingredients found in basic food storage, bagging them together using a meal and seal, which gives me good meals from simply boiling some water and adding ingredients. There are several good books out about this that even have preprinted labels you can copy and use with the directions for making the dish and what additional they will need. So what is usually used to go camping with or a meal in a pinch has become a staple that is saving me from grumpydom! One of the books I would suggest if you are interested in this sort of thing include....Dinner is in the Jar...by Kathy Clark. More on this topic later...

I have followed worldwide earthquakes since I read "We are the Earthquake Generation"  shortly after it was published. in the 1970's. This book is a collection of earth science and prophecy indicating we are ripe for a global pole shift and will see earthquakes that will begin the processes  Well I firmly believe we have moved from prophecy phase into the fruition phase. The premise is that we live on an orange peel surface and that when loosened by earthquakes slips free of the rest of the planet and moves north-south as needed to re-establish the pole, the heating up of the planet is being caused by the stretching of the surface and the movement of the orange peel surface, and we are in the middle of shake rattle and roll right now, there were 1400 earthquakes in the last 7 days ranging from 7.2 down to 1.0.

2 inch knives okay but you still have to remove your shoes????

3/7/13Okay, I understand that Homeland Security is populated with idiots but please someone tell me who thought up the 2-inch knife is okay to take on a plane but you have to remove your shoes. Last night on Fox they showed the knives that were okay, Swiss Army Knives and wine bottle opening type knives, at least the flight Attendants are up in arms! Gotta love this,  please remember we pay with our tax dollars for all this entertainment! Oh and if the knives are not enough mini bats, and 2 golf clubs are okay to bring on as well, great, so you now have a knife and a club! This lack of judgment is just one more good reason to get rid of TSA and seriously reconsider Home Land Security, put the FBI in charge and perhaps we can be safe.

I just stopped for a moment to look at one of my email accounts and found a friend had forwarded some Archie Bunker clips to me. I laughed until I cried and realized those really were the days, we poked fun at everything, this particular piece was about his best friend dying and Archie just finding out his best friend who had just died was Jewish. Archie as you remember poked fun at everything that didn't fall into his very narrow wasp view of correct behavior. I can not imagine doing this type of comedy today, just try to poke fun at yourself based on your ignorance of a friends Islamic religion. Look for the terrorism that would follow that..."by their fruits they shall be known."

I don’t care for dead frogs. The Obama Administration is the most transparent in history, they tell you the same thing over and over again, the average citizen buys the nonsense and the results do not prove out. Right now we are being told that the economy is going down because there was a 2% return to the FICA department for social security funding, the program where your employer matches your contribution to the tune of 14% on each dollar you make. The propaganda is throw grandma off the cliff…by the Democratic Party; they even made a commercial around this theme, huge cuts in Medicare huge cuts in social security support…grandma being thrown off the cliff…by the Democratic Party. The Republicans stand behind the concept of slowing the growth of entitlements…and the democrats tell you they are throwing grandma over the cliff. Headstart Program has been rated year after year and not once has the program contributed to the success of minority and poor children by grade 4, and now Obama wants to double down on the program. Funding failing programs doesn’t fix them. When Obama took office gas prices were $1.96 to day they are $3.69…do you suppose a doubling in the price of gas is hurting our economy? $2.00 per gallon price increase on fuel is causing everything to increase in price and you have much less to spend because of it. Yet the Obama Administration does everything it can to stop any move toward energy independence from the Middle East, and lower gas prices for us. Blocks needed jobs by blocking the development of pipe lines that were okayed by the states they are running thru.

The worst of what is happening is our 2^nd amendment right to defend ourselves from our Government. We are being told we live in a warm and fuzzy world if only guns are taken away from everyone. What we need are guns out of the hands of the criminally insane-and the HIPPA law does not allow us check mental health records to even know who these people are. Think about what I have just told you, the very people who should not have guns are shielded from the correct background check to stop them from getting their hands on guns, any gun.  Please wake up, see past the smoke and mirrors, why do we need drones in the sky? Why do we need gun control? What does our Government have in store for us? We are in the water and the heat is being turned up…dead frogs are eaten for dinner.

State of the Union Speech

Must be feeling better, I want to talk. Anyone catch the Presidents State of the Union speech, I am trying to understand his bi-polar streak where he plays Santa Claus. He wants all, gives all, it all costs nothing to the middle class and elves make and pay for it...darn I think we are the elves. Last tax on the Millionaire's became a tax on the middle and lower class. The quickest roll down hill tax on record, I am waiting for my million....call me impatient but it has been 6 weeks....

Never let an Avocado get away from you and hide behind anything. I have not been feeling well for over a week and have used the let me sleep this off and I will get better self healing method. Usually works, I have a tendency to drive myself instead of taking one bite at a time. So, I have been getting up in the morning feeling pretty well, after making breakfast I was feeling bad, after lunch worse and after dinner drop dead ugly. Well last night feeling sorry for myself I went looking for some citrus fruit, after all extra vitamin C is a good thing especially whole fruit. Instead of finding citrus I found two Avocado's that had hidden behind my Mexican mortar and pestle,  it is a cute little guy who has a hand carved pork face, maybe, looking closely at the picture it looks like a bovine something, let me know what you think.  The Avocado were white with powdery mold, instantly I was feeling ill. Instantly I put them in the garbage, took the garbage out and cleaned the hiding spot. Washed my face and hands. For all you who keep your counter tops devoid of  decoration, hurray for you, I'll consider it. I woke up this morning feeling much better and it is obvious I will live and not pay for an expensive Doctors appointment that would only give me steroids and the potential for coming down with what ever virus is prevalent at their office! This can be avoided and next time I come down with a spike in head- head ache, I will look for mold first!

I just realized something, I am no longer worried about anything concerning my health and neither should anyone else. Under Obama care the minute you become 65 you will no longer have health care of any kind, the death panels will determine you will get no care and if you are under 65 you will have so few Doctors to visit you will have no health care so...all you really have are work years to pay into a program you get nothing out of! You will not have old age, only work years!!

A German's View on Islam - worth reading  This is by far the best  explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read.  His references to past history are accurate and clear.  Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

  We are told  again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is  the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims  just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

  The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals.  It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

  The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.
  Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who  just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists  were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people.  The peaceful majority were irrelevant.. China 's huge population  was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

  The average Japanese  individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist.  Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East  Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed  by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

  And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?

  History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
  Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from  Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics  own them, and the end of their world will have  begun.

  Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians,  Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died  because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too  late.
  As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts--the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

  Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the  passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on!
  Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on - before it's too late.

  Now Islamic prayers have been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord's Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?) The Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in. And we are silent.......

2/5/13 I just finished listening to a congressman from Minnesota -some guy calling himself Ellison tell the Fox News audience that 68-75 percent taxation on the rich was okay. Well folks get ready somehow every time they tax the rich those of us in the middle class take it in the shorts...brace yourself for 68-75 percent taxation well let me see-gone are the days of owning a home, gone are the days of having a new car and gone are the days of anything except paying rent and buying food. I hope you like goodwill, while it lasts, and what little food you can buy, and forget heat or electricity. Better wake up before it is too late, whatever they do to the rich trickles down to those of us who are below. In case you forgot the last tax increase on the rich increased your taxes as well, check your paycheck lately, well it really gets good in 2014. Medical equipment anyone?

I have just had some of the best bread ever! My friends at Stick and Stone Brick Oven Bakery have been baking bread and since I make my own sour dough bread (San Franciscan type) I am rather self satisfied. My second love in bread is a good Rye, not one that is dipped in Molasses but one that is lighter, grainier and with caraway seeds....I found it! Great taste and texture and the smell is divine! SOUR DOUGH BREAD

Okay, it would have been rude to not show you at least three fourths of the finished bread! We sliced one of these mini loaves and had some with home made soup for dinner. We just can not resist this fresh bread just out of the oven! These three loaves will take us two more weeks to finish!

SOUR DOUGH

Okay this about 12 ounces of dough, or 1/4 of the sour dough. I roll this around to work out all the bubbles set it on corn meal and squish it a little so it has a full bottom of corn meal to rest on while it raises and cooks. I will be back when I am close to baking.

THE JOY OF BAKING SOUR DOUGH

Yesterday I began making sour dough bread. Curious as this statement is I use a two day process to create the most delicious San Francisco style sour dough. My sour dough is the King Arthur 250 year old starter. It is available to purchase I picked up the crock and the starter several years ago and periodically make bread to share with others. This week my victims will be my neighbors, I have two picked out to torture! I'll post pictures later today.

HELP NAME A WEB PAGE

Yesterday my friend Diane and I determined we need to open a web page on natural living or living naturally. This would be a collection of information on good health and natural health, information our grandmothers used to survive the world prior to extreme chemistry where everything comes from the lab. We have a whole host of animals that can no longer survive without veterinarian intervention. Yet the deer, elk, wild buffalo and the like survive well with out intervention. So our quest will be looking at food, looking at natural remedies baring in mind that our greatest health benefit came with the wide spread use of soap to clean things with.  Our issue is we need a name for our site...any suggestions?

Greetings, The holiday season is memory and the political group is heating up. This is the 3rd year that Congress ruined my holiday. I hold Harry Reid personally responsible. Harry had the fiscal cliff bill in August and sat on it until the week between Christmas and New Years.The house sent him a bill he ignored until the week between Christmas and New Years so instead of watching Christmas specials we were glued to C-Span watching all the nonsense we saw RINO's help the Democrats and the President increase our taxes and hold on to your hat Obama Care taxes are beginning to kick in as well. All those Rich people they taxed, well this was only a smoke screen so we didn't feel so bad, they got taxed too!  Everyone should just feel screwed! What if they levied a tax and we refused to pay!
