This is in response to Obama's current speech. Nebraska already has back ground checks; no one can just buy a gun at a gun show. This Gun Control issue is not a federal issue it is a states right issue. We understand many states are not as progressive as Nebraska. The President is grandstanding and creating one of dozens of smoke screens to keep the light off of the real issue- his unrelenting spending. The use of Children in regard to gun control this issue is nauseating, and creating children as a target, the man has no shame. This is a States Rights issue.
As we listen to his speech we see he is again throwing money at an issue, we counted several new government jobs he plans to add, which is spending more money.
Gun violence has two main issues, mental health and the inability to control the illegal passing of guns. Many of the murders committed are committed by criminals, who pass guns back and forth and these guns are considered “Hot”. Unless you become a member of whatever illegal group is using the guns you have no way to get guns off the street with a federal law. You just make the streets the only place to purchase a gun.
