CHICKEN RUN WITH BABY CHICKS

  1. The last chickens I purchased are called Ohio Buck Eye. They are a heritage breed and they have been wonderful. A hearty breed that originated in Ohio, a farm wife wanted a chicken that would not lose it's comb in cold winters and could handle hot humid weather. They are excellent and do withstand the extreme weather well, I just didn't expect such an active bird they hunt morning noon and night for bugs and have a fetish for mice...this can be a little disgusting.Free range requires some fencing, or really understanding neighbor's.
